During his recent visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat-based company, which specializes in semiconductor chip manufacturing, announced a public offering worth more than 20,000 crores in Gujarat. The company representatives are currently in Gujarat for a two-day visit, where they will inspect potential sites for setting up plants. The Gujarat government will showcase vast lands in Dholera and Sanand for this purpose. Micron plant is expected to be constructed in most Probably Dholera.
According to government sources, the company is expected to be allocated approximately 100 acres of land and will consider Dholera and Sanand as prime options. The establishment of this plant in Gujarat is expected to generate over 5,000 job opportunities. It is noteworthy that Vedanta Foxconn had previously announced the establishment of a semiconductor chip plant in Dholera, Gujarat, and had selected 400 acres of land for the same. Micron may also potentially finalize its decision in favor of Dholera, as it would simplify production due to the presence of ancillary companies in the area. Following Micron’s announcement, the Indian government and the Gujarat government are also expected to provide assistance in accordance with their semiconductor policies. The Indian government has already finalized measures to provide assistance of up to 50% of the total investment. In addition, the Gujarat government’s share of assistance is estimated to be around 20%, including various facilities such as electricity, roads, water, and sewage on leasehold land.
