Speaking on the occasion, the Union minister involved increasing the participation of nations within the expo.
“We endorse that participation of countries should increase in Defence Expo 2022. Last time, 70 nations participated. We should attempt to take it above 100. Our goal is to make India ‘Aatmanirbhar’ in the defence sector and get acknowledgement as an exporting nation,” the Defence Minister said.
Rajnath Singh is in Gujarat today to analysis planning for consequent edition of the mega defence exhibition – the DefExpo.
About the Defence Expo-2022:
Defence Expo-2022 are going to be held in Gandhinagar from 10th to 13th March next year. The aim of Defense Expo 2022 is to aside from Make in India to make for the world. The Defence Expo-2022 will in-depth in making India a Defence manufacturing hub.
“We have worthy infrastructure for defence equipment production for the state. The Dholera SIR may come to be a hub for defence equipment production units. Apart from having an enormous runway and airport, it also has enough land for weapon trial and testing range,” Rupani said.
The theme of DefExpo 2022 will be: “India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub”. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Thursday said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Defence and therefore the Gujarat government for organising Defence Expo 2022. The MoU was done within the presence of Rajnath Singh at Kevadia in Gujarat.
Along with the key leaders all the party MLAs, MPs, members of executive committee, party’s state office-bearers and presidents of district and city units be present in the meet.
